Your duties will include:
  • Maintain machinery, machine related tools and parts, and all equipment in proper operation condition
  • Inspect equipment and identify issues which need correction and record test procedures and results and recommendations for changes
  • Plan, produce and assemble new or changed mechanical parts for our plant’s industrial machinery and equipment
  • Identify mechanical problems by observing equipment in operation or by other methods based on mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision
  • Repair, adjust and maintain mechanical drive systems, including but not limited to chain drives, belt drives and gear trains etc.
  • Verify proper fits, clearances and backlashes on equipment and make necessary adjustments
  • Repair or replace worn components to restore to original condition
  • Work with others in performing all types of major and minor maintenance and repair work with a high degree of skill and efficiency and with limited direct supervision Knowledge
  • Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision
  • Have interpersonal skills to be able to take instructions and offer advice when needed
  • Be creative and think outside the box to overcome problems that may not have been anticipated

The successful candidates will need to hold a minimum Certificate III in Engineering - Metal Fabrication with good attention to detail and high quality workmanship.

Skills and experience
Any further industry based training or nationally accredited tickets, such as confined spaces, working at heights and forklift, would be desirable but not essential.

Required attributes:

  • Certificate of Proficiency - Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication
  • Previous Industrial maintenance experience
  • Minimum of a C Class licence & own transport
  • Standard AS1554 and pass a weld test
  • Ability to work across a 6 day operation
  • Must be a self-starter with limited supervision required
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety

Skills and experience
Any further industry based training or nationally accredited tickets, such as confined spaces, working at heights and forklift, would be desirable but not essential.

Required attributes:
  • Heavy Structural Steel welding experience
  • Experience in all positional welding including Flux-core
  • Experienced at welding heavy structural and plate components
  • Experienced in performing multiple pass and FSBW to SP code
  • Qualified First Class Welder or cert III with minimum 5 years of experience
  • Knowledge of AS1554
  • Current driver’s license
  • Own PPE including welding helmet & gloves
